Jim, it's been a while, eh? I also opened Rydex short positions on NDX & SPX Friday close - for the same reasons you mentioned. I think I've been lurking your thread too long! I can't find a single up-gap in this long down cycle that hasn't been filled pretty quickly, normally within a couple of days. So I opened this beginning position, and will increase it Monday if the internals look weak. I haven't been posting much because I've been very focused recently on profits and protecting principle. I set a goal on June 1 to increase my portfolio value by 50% by year-end, and yesterday I made the goal. Not an easy feat in this very volatile market. Your comments and answers to my questions have helped greatly - thanks much. Dave
