I most assuredly don't have a problem with you, though I don't like your views one bit, when you express them. I do find it difficult to engage you directly on the merits and I suspect that I'm not alone.

If I am rough with you, it is because I'm trying to get you to recognize that you often are an elusive yet incendiary gadfly who refuses to deal with the merits of discussions after you drop your little bomblets on this thread.

You might wish to change your online moniker to "let's just move on"--I can't count the number of times you've used that expression when your views are shown to be wrong or not founded on logic or reason. The discussion about Arafat being called a "savage" is a perfect example.

I'm left with the impression that you don't consider Arafat a "savage", but I'm not certain since you have evaded the issue.

The fact of the matter is that any reasonable human being with a smidgen of information available to him recognizes that Arafat is of course a savage, not only to the Israelis but also to his own people, who appear to have finally recognized the havoc he has brought them over the years. I'm sure that this is as obvious to you as it is to me yet you pillory journalists who call this spade a spade. Inexplicably, you refuse to say why. This kind of evasiveness is not honest discussion in this forum. If you are going to say something, it seems reasonable to support what you say with reasons.

All of this is speculation since you won't discuss the point after engaging it.

I think that in the future I will give a lot less attention to your posts. It seems that much of what you say is simply either the product of throw-away thinking or a conscious attempt to make incendiary statements in order to revel in the controversy you cause. I'm sorry that this is the case because I do firmly believe that no-holds-barred discussions--where people stay at the table instead of "move on"--are probably the best way to arrive at a semblance of wisdom.
