Oh yes, I forgot about the house stuff. This is fun.

I've painted many rooms in three places, Mt. Pleasant, the Lower East Side, and here. I painted this whole house, inside and out, almost by myself with the occasional help of some friend I'd give lunch to and take swimming in a nice neighbor's pool. Had to scrape the f-er first, too (the house, not the friend), which is much worse than painting. Which is actually kind of satisfying. Except for ceilings. I completely insulated the cellar myself, with guidance from a friend. Not easy, and especially not for me, because I'm terrified of the cellar. Things LIVE down there. I left the cellar doors open and would only go down if it was a bright day, and I played the radio loud so I'd forget it was a cellar.

I am the worst gardener. In the sense of being the most resentful of the whole deal. I hate it so much. A garden torments one. If there was no such thing as a bug or a deer or a rabbit or a mole and the earth watered itself I'd love it. And also, just when your garden is producing, veges are the cheapest in the market. What's THAT about?! I suppose one could can various things, sterilizing jars 'n stuff, for the winter. When the winter is so cold hell freezes over I'll busy myself that way.

I shopped in thrift shops, but then I do that now, too. Poet and I went to a thrift shop when we had lunch in Piermont. She got a really nice, unusual serving dish.

Poet! I forgot to tell you, I got a Zelda pants suit for $8.00 in that shop! It fits as though it had been made for me! I don't do pants suit, but I can wear the slacks and jacket separately. We're talking an $800. suit at least. 99% off is, like, my favorite discount!
