George, these attacks will continue whatever we do, but if we are ever to diminish them, we have to go after the state sponsors, and keep doing it until they are all destroyed, or convinced that giving harbor to the terrorists will lead to their destruction. What you would propose to do, which I gather is nothing, will only eventually lead to the destruction of our way of life. Letting Iraq off the hook is similar in nature to Chamberlain letting Hitler off the hook. Just leads to worse war.

Appreciate your investment comments very much, but believe you are in error about this.

"Unfortunately there probably will be many more attacks like this if Bush goes ahead with his plans to blitz Iraq."

George:

"Such a blitz is just what Bin laden is praying for"

He may be praying for it, but maybe he should be careful what he prays for. The radical islamic movement and western society as we know it cannot co-exist. It is sad but I think true. In this case there is a peace that can only be found on the other side of war.

George, Ha! The Al Qaeda attacks are going on right now! Do you really think that attacking/not attacking Iraq will make a difference in what Al Qaeda does? Not a whit!

Fortunately for the Civilized World, the Bali attack cemented the world alliance against Iraq at just the right time. It was absolutely, horribly perfectly mistimed from Iraq's (or Al Qaeda's) perspective.

All members of Al Qaeda are mortal. They bleed and die just like us. The best defense is a good offense. Remember the Marine Corps battlefield cry....
