A lot of them are funded by the rulers themselves. I suspect 99% of the visa applications from arab countries would look like that...and quite alot from other non english speaking countries would too... Till 911, i'm sure these things were not really considered that important..... the author is just trying to create news here, he should have provided some other visa applications, which were not terrorists, just normal people, you would have a better picture of the kind of visa applications they receive...i am trying to remember if i have ever given the address on any of my applications for tourist or resident visa...i usually write 'hotel', 'renting' or 'relative' too <g>. Once i needed to renew my passport for my first visit to US.I was in a hurry and didn't check the passport carefully. Upon reaching LAX, the customs officer pointed out that the date of birth on my squeaky clean passport had been scratched out and rewritten by hand, invalidating the passport and that i had to go back to Australia on the return flight. The idiot at the passport office in Sydney hadn't thought about the possibility. I had no clue where i was staying, coz my secretary had booked my hotel and arranged for a limo to pick me up. Lucky for me, all 5 of my old, expired passports were tacked to the new one...and i was entering US from Europe, not Australia and few minutes of scrutiny, along with my appearance (clothes, accent and education) convinced the guy that i wasn't a threat to national security and i was allowed to pass. However, I'm with you that ALL visa applications which are incomplete, incomprehensible, or don't make complete and absolute sense should be rejected....and i'm sure now they are trying to ensure that happens......
