Shootie, witnesses report seeing a white van driving away from the scene. I highly doubt the shooters are parking anywhere near any vehicles with people in them that then drive away after likely hearing a shot fired right next to them. However, like you, I am also searching *any* possible reason how these guys could have evaded the dragnet.

Obviously the simplest answer is that, being local, they know how to make their way home without taking any major roads. However, that would increase the duration of their trip and thus increase the chances someone would spot them. Yet, still, this has to be considered the most likely answer.

But how about this...

I'm thinking these guys must not be afraid to be seen in this van. Why? Likely because they don't own it and if forced to abandon it they don't think it can be traced back to them. What if the van were part of a fleet of similar vehicles that you pick up at the lot in the morning and drop off at night. Rather than drive home, you drop off the van among the dozens of other similar looking vans in the lot, get in your own car, and drive home undetected? What sort of fleets would fit this theory?
