Re: "Why should I pay for birth control pills for "needy females?"

Because (a) it reduces the number of unwanted pregnancies among the economically disadvantaged and (b) it lets women take charge of their bodies.

Right-wing ragers believe that males, and not females, should be in charge of women's reproductive functions ... an extension of "keep 'em barefoot and pregnant."

The health board vote, by the way, was something like 17-16 to continue dispensing birth-control pills. The board had previously voted that only abstinence ... not "safe sex" ... can be discussed with young women who come to the health department for advice.

This is what happens when people vote Republican too often too long.
