<<The health board vote, by the way, was something like 17-16 to continue dispensing birth-control pills. The board had previously voted that only abstinence ... not "safe sex" ... can be discussed with young women who come to the health department for advice.>>

I don't mind the idea of giving BC pills to needy women but I also think they should be taught how to use them, ie. not just taken the day they have sex, plus that they don't protect against AIDS and other STDs.

Bull-oney.....

There's no excuse for unwanted pregnancy today which occurs as a result of the irresponsible action of two persons...neither of who I should be responsible for....

Because (a) it reduces the number of unwanted pregnancies among the economically disadvantaged and (b) it lets women take charge of their bodies.

I will just dismiss that "take charge of their bodies" part because that is just a PC way of saying you are a wussy, and want no responsibility. nuff said.

There is another way of reducing the number of unwanted pregnancies. It is called keeping your pecker in your pants, and keeping your panties pulled up. I know that is a hard concept for a Democrat to grasp, but keep working at it.

Why can't "needy females" take responsibility for their own birth control?
If they took responsibility, they would reduce the number of unwanted pregnancies and have control over their own bodies.
Conservatives do not believe in "keeping 'em barefoot and pregnant." They don't want to be in charge of women's reproductive functions.

Abstinence is safe. Sex isn't.
