Drugs are outlawed, yet I can get almost any drug within 15 minutes. Don't you think that the same would be true for guns if they are outlawed, the only difference being a law abiding citizen who actually has a weapon for defense now wont be able to protect him/herself.

Exactly! Why the hell does the average Joe need a sniper rifle or an Uzi? I mean how about common sense here. Argh!

Why don't we outlaw guns.

Well, for a start, we have a Constitution that, until amended otherwise, allows citizens to own them. I'm one of them, and might point out that my ownership in no way threatens you or anyone else.

Taking away my rifles would not protect you from a criminal intent on doing you harm. In much the same way, my ownership does not protect me from a criminal either, unless he comes into my home and threatens me. I did not purchase a handgun until I was twice victimized in my home and learned there is no such thing as a "safe" neighborhood.

If you really want to support anti-gun legislation, that's your choice. However, before you do, you might be well advised to understand the NRA's view of the subject, and it might well change your mind.

There's been some discussion here of Islam, with some suggesting that reading the Koran before opposing it would be educational. Same applies to gun control.

Be very careful when you step on another's right because the next time, it may be your's that is stepped upon.

Respectfully, chaz

ahh the extremists are out in force...

In my state we have a gun law that says anyone caught with an unregistered gun goes to jail for a yr no questions asked. It was passed in the late 1980s with great fanfare and media hoopla. Guess what? It's never enforced.

Most gun control laws are not enforced.

If gun control laws worked, they would have worked by now. We already have about 22,000 gun control laws. So much for your big panacea.

Off Topic!
To answer your question re: guns being outlawed is very political - the liberals, read democrats lost the election
due to their stand on outlawing firearms (as well they
should have with this stance). The vast group of folks that have firearms
voted against these meatheads. The democrats/liberals
don't want this to be a major issue again - UNTIL THEY
GET INTO POWER. My hope is that every honest American
weapon owner votes against anyone who is opposed to the 2nd amendment! This is the amendment that allows all of the
other amendments to work!

BTW, I live about 5-6 miles from columbine. I wish that
some teacher had a right to carry and could have blown
away both Harris and Kliebold before they had a chance to
end more lives. The good old jeffco police had their
thumbs stuck up their butts!

And you sir or maam are loony tunes. Ted Kennedy's
car has killed more people (1, remember Chappaquidik sp)
than my guns (0). Most (99.999%) of honest people who
own guns have never considered using them in the manner
of that deranged SOB that has now taken 11 lives seemingly
at random.

I enjoy hunting bambi, thumper, and elk. I also eat what I
kill. Crime in FL, TX, and other states that have
a "shall issue" concealed carry permit has dropped very
dramatically. Why? The bad guys don't want to take a
chance that the person (male or female) is packing heat.
