Recently, I saw a documentary about the fire [as filmed by the cameraman who was filming at the time with the fire department].

Was that the one with the French film crew? If so, I saw it too, and it was excellent.

Yes, the WTC and the Pentagon attacks affected me more, too, but the one that affects me the most is the one that didn't happen, the plane that went down in Pennsylvania. It was intended for the Capitol. I love that building. It's one of the treats of my life to look at it at all hours of the day and night, whenever I am in the city, which isn't often.

US newspapers did not show graphic images of the dead and wounded from the WTC. I suppose there wasn't much to see, either you were crushed flat or you got away.

The Australian newspapers are showing photographs of dead women lying in piles. They are all young, and beautiful, wearing beach clothes.

The WTC I could understand, it was a vital part of our economy, and the Pentagon a vital part of our defense.

The people in Bali were targeted because of who they were, as human beings. Foreign women and men mingling together, casually attired, drinking alcohol and dancing. They were all young.

This, to me, is far more savage and vicious than the attack on the WTC and Pentagon. It's kind of like rape. All rape is bad, but raping a child is worse. All murder is bad, but killing young men and women in the flower of their life is worse.
