Hi stockman_scott; Re the Washington sniper.

You'd think that given the fact that the DC police have been unable to catch a sniper practically in the nation's capital would give them pause about the concept of invading and occupying Iraq.

In the US, almost 100% of the citizens would turn in the sniper if they could. Sniping is extremely antisocial behavior.

In Iraq, hatred of the US government is commonplace. Even in Kuwait the guys who shot up our soldiers were given martyr's funerals.

But despite the obvious fact that it is a hell of a lot easier to catch snipers in areas where the population does not support them, the DC police are still, so far, helpless.

P.S. I've been seeing more commentary suggesting that the shootings are the work of a 2-man terrorist team.
