Carl: Good point...our track record at hunting down snipers and Al Qaeda leaders is not very good so far (and that's with a Superpower's army and a $30 Billion/year Intelligence Gathering effort)...it's your tax dollars at work...I have a hunch that a sniper in the capital may be easier to find than Saddam (who knows how to hide things and has several 'look alikes' or decoys).

..You'd think that given the fact that the DC police have been unable to catch a sniper practically in the nation's capital would give them pause about the concept of invading and occupying Iraq.

So let's not send the DC police to do the job in Iraq. :-/ Seriously, this sounds like a non-sequitur...what does the incompetence of the DC police have to do with invading anyplace?

I too have seen comments on the 2-man team sniper team theory (though of course one could be a woman). I think it's just beyond the capabilities of the DC police to find them. No use "rounding up the usual suspects."
