They would have to spin off FASL and probably even sell Dresden. I figure by Q3, 2003 or never.

So Intel pushes another competitor off the ring, and the analysts reward this with gloom and doom. Long-term investing is obviously only 3 months long.

Motorola spun off their division this week. That leaves mainly AMD & Via. My prediction is AMD puts their s/c division on the block after doing the obvious.

Intel's real remaining threat appears to be Via and another one in the comm biz. Is Via a public company? What's their cash-on hand. They don't bleed cash like AMD does.

I missed a good chance yesterday to pick up some INTC in my 401k at work.
