Elect, don't want to embarrass you....but that was an excellent post. How can their be disagreement on scripture? I'll tell you one way. Denominations that put church creeds ahead of true doctrine and then refuse to change for fear of being ostracized.

Hello, Elect, may I ask you the following:?

Is God's will being done here on earth now as it is done in heaven?

Why do nations still lift up sword against nation and continue to learn war contrary to the promise in Isaiah 2 and Micah 4?

Where is the river flowing eastward from the temple complex described by Ezekiel that goes to the Mediterranean and to the Dead Sea and where are the trees that grow their fruit in their months and give healing leaves because of the water of the sanctuary? (Ezek 47)

Where are the twelve tribes of Israel living in their parallel allotments according to Ezekiel 48?

When do the apostles take their thrones to judge the twelve tribes of Israel?

When does a child die at the age of a hundred?

When will God rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in His people: where the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying? (Isaiah 65:19)

What should have happened to the mount of Olives when Jesus came back to it bodily in 70 AD? (Zech 14:4)

Where exactly is Jesus, bodily, since 70 AD and what is He doing?

What is Satan's current authority with regard to the nations of the earth?

Why did Peter write about scoffers in the last days demanding where was the coming of the Lord, if it was so close to the time of his letter?

Where do men go out to look at the carcases of the transgressors where their worm does not die and where their fire is never quenched?

When do the nations that came against Jerusalem come every year to worship the King and to keep the feast of Tabernacles; and if those heathen come not to that feast, they shall have no rain (Zech 14)?

Thanks.

Stan

Thought you might find this article interesting. Also the site that it comes from.

concordant.org

You're right that some are not called or chosen in this life. That doesn't prevent them from being changed by the blood of Christ out of the lake of fire at the consummation of the ages.

When death is abolished as the last enemy.

Have a good weekend Elect.

Elect
Thanks for your reply. I take it then that you deny point two, the "Visible and Bodily Second Coming (of Christ)in the Future"
That puts you outside of two thousand years of historical Christian doctrine and puts you in good company with the Jehovah's witnesses. They claim Christ has already returned by twisting the same scriptures that you do. You see that's the problem with unwarranted spiritualization of scripture. There can be no testing what is claimed.

The same thing happened with the resurrection. Hymenaeus and Philetus taught that the resurrection had already taken place and as Paul pointed out destroyed the faith of some in the process. How could anyone possibly claim the resurrection had already taken place? Easy, they just denied the physical nature of the resurrection and taught that it happened spiritually. That's essentially what you are doing.

As an aside, do you remember the words of the angels to those who watched the ascension of Jesus from the Mt of Olives?

Acts 1:10 "They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. 11"Men of Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.""

Have you ever read Zechariah 14: ? Here it is for your edification
1 Behold, a (1) day is coming for the LORD when (2) the spoil taken from you will be divided among you. 2 For I will (3) gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the city will be captured, the (4)houses plundered, the women ravished and half of the city exiled, but the rest of the people will not be cut off from the city. 3 Then the LORD will go forth and (5) fight against those nations, as when He fights on a day of battle. 4 In that day His feet will (6) stand on the Mount of Olives, which is in front of Jerusalem on the east; and the Mount of Olives will be (7) split in its middle from east to west by a very large valley, so that half of the mountain will move toward the north and the other half toward the south. 5 You will flee by the valley of My mountains, for the valley of the mountains will reach to Azel; yes, you will flee just as you fled before the (8) earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. (9)Then the LORD, my God, will come, and all the holy ones with Him! 6 In that day there will be (10) no light; the luminaries will dwindle. 7 For it will be (11) a unique day which is (12) known to the LORD, neither day nor night, but it will come about that at (13) evening time there will be light. 8 And in that day (14) living waters will flow out of Jerusalem, half of them toward the eastern sea and the other half toward the western sea; it will be in summer as well as in winter. God Will Be King over All 9 And the LORD will be (15) king over all the earth; in that day the LORD will be the only (16) one, and His name the only one. 10 All the land will be changed into a plain from (17) Geba to (18) Rimmon south of Jerusalem; but Jerusalem will (19) rise and (20) remain on its site from (21) Benjamin's Gate as far as the place of the First Gate to the (22) Corner Gate, and from the (23) Tower of Hananel to the king's wine presses. 11 People will live in it, and there will (24) no longer be a curse, for Jerusalem will (25) dwell in security. 12 Now this will be the plague with which the LORD will strike all the peoples who have gone to war against Jerusalem; their flesh will (26) rot while they stand on their feet, and their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongue will rot in their mouth. 13 It will come about in that day that a great panic from the LORD will fall on them; and they will (27) seize one another's hand, and the hand of one will be lifted against the hand of another. 14 (28) Judah also will fight at Jerusalem; and the (29) wealth of all the surrounding nations will be gathered, gold and silver and garments in great abundance. 15 So also like this (30) plague will be the plague on the horse, the mule, the camel, the donkey and all the cattle that will be in those camps. 16 Then it will come about that any who are left of all the nations that went against Jerusalem will (31) go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to celebrate the (32) Feast of Booths. 17 And it will be that whichever of the families of the earth does not go up to Jerusalem to worship the (33) King, the LORD of hosts, there will be (34) no rain on them. 18 If the family of Egypt does not go up or enter, then no rain will fall on them; it will be the (35)plague with which the LORD smites the nations who do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Booths. 19 This will be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all the nations who do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Booths. 20 In that day there will be inscribed on the bells of the horses, "(36) HOLY TO THE LORD." And the (37) cooking pots in the LORD'S house will be like the bowls before the altar. 21 Every cooking pot in Jerusalem and in Judah will be (38) holy to the LORD of hosts; and all who sacrifice will come and take of them and boil in them. And there will no longer be a (39) Canaanite in the house of the LORD of hosts in that day.

The futurist view has no problem dealing with theses two texts Please explain how all this happened in 70 ad.
