Well, I didn't.

But it's funny that most gun dealers I have met and who wanted me to buy an AK47 told me the AK47 can use NATO ammo!

They often said, "No problem with getting the ammo for that gun. It can fire the NATO round or modified 0.308," or something to that effect.

However, I have always remained incredulous. As it was something of no great importance to me, I never bothered to go check things out for myself until this chance discussion on guns and ammo on the GPM.

Seems that the AK47s used in 'Nam had their chambers modified so they could fire M1 ammo as well.

I suppose this would make what had seemed so incredible rather credible, after all?
