I wonder. AMD is joining almost all other IC makers and is adopting a new paradigm. Consortiums and foundries are the opposition to INTC's do it alone, in house method. INTC has a lead to start with and a new paradigm takes some shaking out, but with costs rising significantly as the industry moves along the roadmap, cost sharing and process technology cooperation among many players appears to offer viable competition and a potential winning strategy.
