Dave, what do you think about the woman who complained to the police about being confronted at 4am, then loaded up with a .357 went out at 5:30 hunting for the dude, and shot him...

My first wife defended herself similar to that once years ago. Didn't have to shoot. Soon as the guy saw the revolver pointed at him he lost all interest.

Liberals don't like the use or threat of violence in defence. They'd probably prefer to deal with the "root cause".

Naturally, you and the other liberals misinterpreted the picture. When women "might" have the means of self defense, rapists have to think twice before accosting them. It doesn't matter if one or the other actually has a weapon, but if they have the right to it, the rapist or mugger has to worry about it.

I can't even imagine how you could claim that I misinterpreted your picture. The Bill of Rights is about "rights", not pictures. A picture of a woman [assuming that was a woman] doesn't say didly-squat about the second amendment. Perhaps that was a picture of a woman perp in a burglary of a convenience store.

But you want to talk about rapes [conservatives seem to have this thing about sex...one day I'll figure out why]

4 out of 5 rapes are committed by men the woman knows. Husbands, estranged/divorced husbands, dates, neighbors, fellow co-workers, etc. It's the people that you and wife know that are most likely to rape your wife. Think about that the next time you invite a male friend over to the house. Everytime your wife sees someone she knows, that's the time to get the gun out!
vaw.umn.edu

While the Governement has been "chipping away" at what you perceive are your rights under the second amendment, rapes have gone down substantially. In 1973, the rate was 2.5 rapes per thousand; in 2001 it was 0.6 per thousand. A 76% drop in rape rates. Here's the full table.
ojp.usdoj.gov

You want to know who kills women? 51% are killed by men they knew with 30% killed by their husbands, ex's or boyfriends. [Adobe page 11] There's a time for your wife to get out that gun and it's when you or your friends and neighbors are in your house.
