I didn't think it was funny when the Republicans tore down Clinton either -- like him or not, we only have one President at a time.

You don't have to be a Bush-lover to think Dowd's unreadable these days. Me, I think she has two problems, style and substance. Re the former, she's so wrapped up in her own silly little verbal games that her getting through her columns is work--and unpleasant work at that, at least for me. Re the latter, she knows as little about foreign policy as the President, maybe even less, so she has nothing to offer other than attitude.

The only Times columnist I read regularly is Friedman, altho I give Safire and Keller an occasional glance...
