Just saw a replay of that press conference. Moose says the person who left them a message at the Ponderosa should "call us at the number you provided". Given his lack of skill on camera, it's hard to tell if this is what he meant to say. The TV commentators seem rather befuddled.

In a previous press conference, Chief Moose said he had tried to use code words to open a dialogue to the killer, meaning he was using words when speaking to the cameras he thought only the killer would understand. These words were based on the message left with the tarot card. He gave examples, i.e. something like "With God's help..." He said when the press got ahold of the message and reported it, it really screwed things up. So, it sounds to me like the killer left another message at the scene and the Chief is speaking directly to him... again.
