Did you bother to read the first link??

Thus despite talk of "holding the line," military spending will continue to increase significantly. Meanwhile the U.S. is spending more than the next 12 biggest defense spenders combined. We spend more than three times the amount of all our potential enemies combined.

US force structure is too "heavy".. It's designed for Desert Storm or European invasions from the Soviets... It's NOT designed for Bosnia, Afghanistan, or many of the other places where we may be required to project military power.

Don't you find it just a bit inane that a liberal would claim the Republicans aren't spending enough on defense??

Do you enjoy wallowing in such liberal hypocrisy??

The Clinton years of DOD budget cuts and peace dividends weighed on me very heavily.. For that was when I decided that being associated with the military was just no longer worth the BS... Especially when there was literally no money available for realistic training due to the way the budget was structured.
