The New "Atlantic" is out. Kaplan is the Author of "Warrior Politics"

And James Fallows' piece on Iraq entitled, "The Fifty-first State?" which I think, for some reason, has already been posted here.

Also Harper's has a long essay on US complicity in starvation and disease in Iraq via its UN role denying medicine, foodstuff, and other such. It's not online but interesting nonetheless. It is a role the US, throughout the 90s (so it spans the Clinton and Bush years), wished to keep very secret. Thus, each time some item in its effort was publicized, the US quickly gave in. Then when secrecy returned, the administration continued denying aid.

It would be interesting to hear Kenneth Pollack's take on the arguments.
