Alan,
I agree with you.

Also, this type of crime isn't one that would be done for a ransom.

Either a red herring or terrorist looking for funding before they continue their activities.

Alan, I would agree that the killer's total disregard for children could be considered indicative of someone who has total disdain for anyone who is American no matter what their age, and hence a sign they are a foreigner. However, the killer's knowledge of the area and the way he has systematically dealt with the police seems to imply he didn't just arrive here recently. Also, as someone pointed out here earlier, serial killers seem to have a total disdain for all human life, not just adults. Recall, too, that we've recently had our share of child kidnappings and murders, so, sadly, it's not all that unusual.

Alan,

I can't remember who, but a couple years ago a republican politician remarked, 'your women aren't safe anywhere or anytime'.

He was of course referring to Bill Clinton

It now appears at least one of them is not homegrown.
Someone on CNN just said if you have ever been to Jamaica, you will see a lot of tarot cards around, so that card left with the message starting out as "Mr. Policeman" in retrospect appears to be a Jamaican accent.
