Sounds to me like she was addressing the fact that HP is not considered to be competitive with Dell. Rather than state something she cannot, she is pointing out that HP is making strides in areas that were once considered Dell's holy ground.

We'll see....

What the heck does THAT mean? If she meant "market share" wouldn't she say that rather than "competitive ground?"

Some people buy market share. I remember when she got the Amazon deal but a reporter asked about losing eBay to Sun she made some comment about not buying market share if it meant losing money.

I remember days long ago when Dave Packard was rumored to have said any of us that bought market share to lose money would be fired.
