I missed that piece. Thanks for posting it.
As is probably obvious, I agree very strongly with what he says.

One principal difference between a totalitarian society and a free society is the right to dissent. If one disagrees but doesn't dissent, what is the benefit of the free society?

In fact, an argument could be made that the true un-American is the person who dissents only in their own mind, but refuses to make their dissent known, since that person is denying the very right which distinguishes a free society from an unfree society.

Thanks for posting the piece.

No, actually, Christopher, you didn't "miss that piece" at all.

This is how you replied to it:

...[Allen] would have gotten along fine with Chamberlain in the late 30s.

Personally, I admire Churchill more.

Churchill would have had a few well-chosen words for Mr. Allen.

Mr. Allen adopts the basic fallacy of failing to recognize that his right to write that stuff was bought by the blood of people whose patriotism he denies.

Such as my son.

Fortunately, we have people in our military who are willing to risk their lives so that Mr. Allen can spew his silliness. It is that, and not anything Mr. Allen writes, that has made our country great for over 200 years and will keep it great, I hope and pray, for many, many more...

It and its sequels are what led to your accusing Poet of "making negative inferences about our young men in uniform," yet being unable ever to cite one.

Here are just a few reminders:
