Found this interesting.

Forbes list of wealthiest in China
in 1999 it took $6 million in dollars to make the list
in 2000 It took $42 million
In 2001 it took $60 million
In 2002 it took $84 million

Wealth expansion equals job expansion normally.

It is not difficult to see that China is growing at least wealth is growing for the group on Forbes list. The dollar base of wealth growth rate has subsided from the 2000 boom.

In the US 51 people out of 400 make the wealth list due to service industry.

Our fourth annual list of China's 100 Richest includes 34 new names, led by Shanghai real estate developer Eddie Ye Lipei, who enters at a tie for sixth place.

There are 29 people remaining from our 2000 China 50 and a mere eight from our 1999 China 50. Personal wealth of at least $84 million was required to make the cut for this year's list, compared with $60 million last year, $42 million in 2000 and just $6 million in 1999.
