SBC has all these teasers (nothing for free though)... but when you look into it, after the first 3-6 mos or so, DSL + all the assoc. taxes ends up costing you close to $50/mo. around here.

There was an article from business week recently that discussed this pricing issue pretty succinctly- people that are non-techies have high speed internet at work, they'll shop at amazon there- and just use dialup for email rather than pay over $40/mo. Makes sense to me, I know I complain about my cable TV rates, also way too high but the same pricing issue... monopoly power at its best
