He exercises his free choice, and chooses to get off on causing suffering.

I skimmed the weekend material, and didn't notice this. It was brought to my attention. In my opinion, not only is it mistaken, it is a rationalization for behaving horridly and not being called to account. It increases my sense that you should kick things off with a sincere apology.
