I won't accuse you of making a case, even indirectly, for bombing children if you don't say I claim there were no Protestant Matrix of Malevolence Head-Hackers and terrorists. It's a shame Lenny Murphy wasn't aborted at the first hint of pregancy. Cutting to the chase, the common problem in all these things, from the Corn Laws to the state housing allocation to the other laws is State Collectivism and pork barrel politics, allocating state resources to mates, cronies, supporters. Overlay communism/socialism with religion and mayhem is in the making. The Protestants were obviously using their access to state power to benefit themselves. Just as Maoris and other Helengrad supporters are doing here. That's bad for the rest of us. But bombing children and tourists and taking hostages in Moscow and loving death more than life isn't a good idea. Last night we went to the Mahatma Ghandi centre where the Indian community was celebrating new year. I think Ghandi had better ideas for freedom from British rule than blowing up children and tourists. He was successful too [in gaining Independence for India] though not in economic development [they kept Karl Marx and threw out the King - a mistake]. It was a very happy, enjoyable occasion. Mqurice PS: How come Chinese and Indians are so clueless as to when New Years Day is? Okay, we got the year wrong for turn of the millennium, but at least we knew which day Y2K clicked over. Yes, it's true that the longest day isn't exactly on 31 December, but it's quite close. Closer than China's New Year. Closer than India's too. I suppose the northern hemisphere crowd think of the shortest day of the year as being last of the old year. We'll have to switch to Internet Time and leave the solar system out of it. No doubt the Aztecs in this thread would like to bring back Stonehenge Time alone with the Gold Standard. Okay, that's it from me. Sunday rant/ off.... Over and out.
