so you "managed" to ride out the loss of your equity over a 10 year period....and made some money in the end......

my point is...

not everybody has the option of becoming an independent contractor...

had you been in the situation of having to move to find gainful employment you would have lost money.

don't minimize the risk of short term potential losses especially with calif. RE which is very susceptible to boom/bust cycles...

talk to paul v. on this thread...who is JUST NOW able to get out from under an upside loan situation after many years..in so. ca.....

good for him, good for you...but it ain't gonna last. (RE prices will correct...but i agree with you with the upward bias...it's just overshot sustainable levels in the past 2 years)
