It does look interesting. But personally, I'm less interested in the historical why of the trials than in the underlying psychological interplay between the participants. I'm fascinated by the psychology of all events of mass hysteria, from Salem to the Inquisition to the Tulib Bulb panic to the Wenatchee abuse trials and lots, lots more. There's even some instructive content to be gleaned from this thread as to the interplay of the members of the hate crowd and the way in which they resemble the protagonists in the Inquisition, Salem, etc.

Very interesting. You know, I once played Judge Danforth in The Crucible, so I got interested in the topic for awhile, and tried to enter the mentality........
