John, I don't really keep up enough with the op-ed types to say for sure, but the conservative wing sure seems to keep close tabs on what the liberal wing writes. And when the conservatives pounce, it's always some broad brush thing where "liberals" in general are somehow responsible for the utterances of some particular "leftist", unless they swear disallegiance or something. It's strange, I think there's way too many people trying to pound out 2 or 3 columns of punditry a week.

Then there's the Harry Belafonte thing, which goes beyond strange into the surreal realm. Especially considering what a punching bag Powell was for the neocons until recently.
