Sorry I completely forgot about this thread until now- I did not the bet the breeders cup- but I really loved Bonapaw in the Sprint and Farda Amiga(except for the long layoff). Bonawpaw had won his last race so impressively I thought about betting it in the futures at 14-1. You guys made terrific calls with DomeDriver and Thunderello. All I can say is- When you have prices like these on long shots- the sane way to play is WP and box with the favorite. However, I have lost more money not following this strategy than I would care to admit. I know placing sounds like the cowards way out but- the place price can be great if the favorite runs out and if it runs in you have the exacta. I also had a little bird in my head whispering "Volponi" which got stronger when I saw blinkers on for it. Phil JOhnson is a very clever trainer who has been around for a long time. and the horse figured to sit a golden trip on the rail behind the speed. isnt hindsight grand? Now as a kibbitzer my excitement will be to follow the pick-six saga. I can't wait to find out what the guy's phone records will show in terms of time of call placed! This guy hitting the pick six reminds me of Rosie Rouiz in the Marathon.
