I don't think that's true; I think, in this instance, he thinks he is at war with Said. And that he can use 9-11 to settle old grudges. Different focus altogether Once again, a proponent of arguments you oppose is a) declared to be pursuing a personal vendetta, not a philosophical difference, and b) dismissed from the debate on those grounds. You keep complaining that the Right engages in "name-calling" and "demonization" of the Left. But what are you doing? Is it impossible for you to believe that Pipes has a sincere philosophical difference with MESA?

I am trying to understand where you got these ideas from, and the only thing I can think of is that you imagine that the country has a number of violent lunatics who really care whether a university professor is in favor of Said, are unable to read books and scholarly publications to find out the ones who do favor Said, but are able to read the Internet, so now will follow these professors home and kill them and their families.
