I think the word apparent is key. Much of the move came from gaps. It was manipulation while the market was closed. A single person at a single desk can cause the futures to run, while hundreds of millions of market participants are asleep.

Brian everthing is so wild right now, this move at end of day still keeps that SPX animation in play--i suppose; we did close 14 points above 867.xx, but we didn't hit 866.97, and move didn't start at 13:30pm.Max
