Well...birth and death are either meaningless transitions which neither begin nor end "identity"...or they are the beginning and the end of "identity". Did you have an identity 5000 years ago? Does identity imply awareness? And when we have no awareness...how do we claim "identity" under your scheme that consciousness is primal?
