"Did you read the definition on conscience? An ethical code as a referent is part and parcel of the word."

Yes I did. I did not apply a parsimonious interpretation of the dictionary definition. I did not fracture the dictionary definition from the commonly accepted application of the word. I did on more than one occassion point out to you that I understand the basis in strict doctrine, or what ever, that is likely to be at the core of fanaticism. I also understand that when people deliberate over matters of conscience they do so on the basis of principle, which may be in part founded in a code, in part culturally derived, and in part heart felt as a self evident confirmation of their membership in humanity.

Persons without a conscience are not able to weigh all of these factors. They are likely to be self absorbed. Their awareness is only about how they fair in the world. If they have made a commitment to some code of living, they are likely to compulsively adhere to the strict guidelines of doctrine and fanatically behave toward the extreme...to be on top of it all, or in control of it all, to win on their particular course of fanaticism; without weighing that against a personal heart felt consideration of the humanity that is also at issue...in other words "no conscience" about harming an innocent human that is in the way of their goal. That does not mean they haven't rationalized and justified their course of action according to the dictates of the fanatical course.
