Let see agreed upon standard for TD-SDMA, none. Look at W-CDMA for what that can mean. Chips available none. Software available to run network, none. If the Chinese want to stand still for 5 years, then they may come up with something, but the rest of the world will be long gone.

The 3GPP TD-SCDMA UTRAN for a 3GSM core network is (will be) fully developed in 3GPP R4, and for the all-IP network in R5. Utra-DS (WCDMA) and TD-SCDMA can coexist in the same network as complementary access methods making use of two different frequency plans, one paired the other unpaired.

That's comical. Anyone holding their breath? Why would anyone want to increase the complexity of the already hugely complex?

But I suppose I shouldn't complain, two flavors of CDMA running together probably means mo' money for Q.

If there is a market..

The "if" is not just an "if", it's a huge, monumental "if" the size of the Matterhorn. There is no market, no interest, and the CDMA2000 and WCDMA train left the station while TD-SCDMA was thinking about whether to buy a ticket.

I'd have to see an earth-shattering unbelievable change of circumstances for the "if" to be anything but vaporware.
