I am totally clueless about the outcome this next week.

I'm not familiar enough with US politics to understand the ramifications of either side winning. If I understand it, presently the party in power is not the party that the Pres. belongs to? Obviously, electing a party that is of the same ilk as he would be helpful for him. (not necessarily to the US people though eh? :o))

BTW in Canuckville, we elect a party , the leader of the elected party is then the Prime Minister (Pres.). We do not vote for the leader per se. The leader of any given party is elected by the party faithful in the country (not the general citizenry) in a leadership race held at another time than the general elections.
