For one thing, I have no idea where my Douay bible went, so have no idea whether James, the brother of Jesus, is even in it. For years I've been reading the Lattimore translations from the Greek, which I really like. But trying to explain the Catholic version of Mary to a Protestant is the real stumper. If I started talking about "Tower of Ivory", "House of Gold," "Mirror of Justice" and all that to a Protestant, he'd probably short circuit.
