and politicking that can be more destabilizing...

hard to imagine anything more destablizing than the shenanigans that appear to go on in the US system. Before you get upset...think about it....the armtwisting, deal making and manoevering is something to see...at least from this outsiders unknowledgeable perception. I would say its more straightforward here. You vote the party line or the PM turns yah into toast. Therefore, for the most part the elected party gets to run the show and the oppositions ( 2 other parties) get to be the watch dog and ensure counter opinion and public exposure of the issues.
