Actually, I think that it is impossible to be liberal in from a US perspective and conservative from a European perspective. That would imply that we are more liberal than Europe. I do not believe this to be the case. On balance, I would say Jochen is fairly conservative for a European, but by US standards he is somewhat left of center. He opposses the war on Iraq, supports the need for US to work within the framework of the UN, and has I believe been supportive of US subordination to the World Court. Those are not moderate or conservative here, maybe in Hawaii, but not in the midwest. My point was that while I may not always agree with him, his posts are great and he backs his arguements with sound reasoning. bill
