I was vaguely amused to see that Sharon's own government toppled after all this time he has been trying to remove Arafat from his position of power :)

And when Arafat's "government" can be as easily dissolved, with the real potential of Arafat losing his job like Sharon, perhaps there may be hope for the Palestinians.

Your point of view is, as usual, rather curious to me.

It now looks like Sharon is determined to stay in power and will form another coalition with the ultra-nationalists & religious groups.

I'm not sure if he has the numbers to pull it off.. But Nadine seems to think so...

But were Sharon to appeal to the ultra-nationalists and religious groups, it would likely be Netanyahu, not Sharon, who would hold the greatest chance of being prime minister.

Labor was Sharon's hedge against Netayahu... And now that's gone and he now stands exposed to the U-Right..

And I wonder if the Palestinians are ready to face Netanyahu again... He is a very charming politician who knows how to smooze the US public...
