Patricia, you may be able to give Verizon the- HFC MAC ID - code # on rear of your modem and if accepted then no additional settings will be required of your router. Do you have a HFC MAC ID on label?

Regards, /jw

ps; I'm looking at cable, DSL may be same. Once ISP has the ID and configured you're good to go!

Congrats on the discount. That's a good deal. Nope, your old modem won't work. They will be sending you a shiny new Fujitsu modem that you will have to use.

You might try Linksys tech support about your router config. I have a D-Link and it is easy to configure but I don't remember how I did it it, it's been a couple of years.

They do have a policy of charging for additional computers, fwiw, just so you know.
