I don't think much will change re the settlements, LB. But with Mofaz as DM and Ya'alon as Chief of Staff, you are likely to see stronger military responses. Sharon has a pretty strong hand to play, since polls say he would survive the contest with Bibi and Likud would be much stronger after an election. Sharon also has a trump card - his relationship with GW Bush. He won't do anything to endanger that and will play the card if anyone tries to push him.
