Jim, your bearishness seems to be feeding upon itself.

Americans have a tendency to bounce back under adversity. The harder you knock us down the harder we come back.

There is at least a decent chance we get through this by the skin of our teeth, like we always do.

Jim,

There were very interesting articles on Ford and GM in the October 28 Fortune. Both articles highlighted the significant problems each faces. Very bearish for a mainstream publication.

If Ford and GM are having problems now, with record vehicle sales, one can only imagine what happens when vehicle sales decline. As you point out the 0% financing is problematical for future sales; and probably attracting many sub-standard borrowers in the process.
