Ah yes...Maureen Dowd....a stellar pillar of financial expertise.... <snortle>

And isn't it nice to see such propaganda in action, all using the same 3.1 number:

Raines watch:
"Economy Races Ahead at 3.1 Annual Rate in Summer", Associated Press headline on the AP Web site yesterday.

"Economy Grows at 3.1 percent. Consumer spending on big-ticket items fuels third quarter surge", The Washington Post.

"Economy Grew at 3.1 percent in 3rd Quarter, Slower Than Expected" - the New York Times.

"The economy is imploding,", Maureen Dowd, the New York Times.

Did my voting this morning. I won't be in my district on election day, so I went the early voting route. Here in Houston we're now using electronic voting machines called "E-Slates." Pretty nice pieces of technology. Very easy to use. I'm interested in hearing how they performed after the elections.
