hey Robyn ... I'm glad you've been on the right side of this. I'm in such a groove of just focusing on the market during earning season, and then stepping back after that. I used to be chained to the computer and I am really learning to take a LOT more time away from the market by just staying pretty uninvested during warning season. After YHOO moved up about 50% off it's bottom after reporting (more than that even I think), that was a good indicator to me that once again there was big money to be made. So I got the old earnings calendar out and began to plan accordingly. I don't short as most of my trading funds are in an IRA, but after watching a lot of people who primarily short, they seem to do really poorly during rallies. I really don't know anyone who trades long & short equally well. And if you take the few months from October to January of last year (when there were plenty of doubles and triples), the little rally we had during the summer, and now this ... well if people don't see there's money to be made on the long side then they are not looking at the same stocks I am. For me, knowing when to stay out seems to be the key.

And, I'm actually getting "I love you notes" from my kids again! They stopped making me artwork and notes there for a long while, because I was market obsessed. And I'm so much more relaxed.

I think a lot of people have gotten eaten alive by this market though, and that makes me sad. Next week is going to be interesting.

Hey, have you ever been to Tuscany? I've spent hours online trying to decide WHICH town to use as a base. Finally, I just now ordered a travel video on the area. I used to work in the travel business, and when it comes to planning trips for the family I get a little to overzealous trying to find that "perfect" place.
