Orthodox Jews generally rule that "veahavta lere'ekha kamokha" only applies to other Jews... re'a in Hebrew often translated as "neighbor" means "companion" or "friend". So the idea is the self-support of the Jewish community against the outsiders and enemies.

Jesus said "Love your enemy as yourself". The Jewish attitude on that is "That is really dumb".

Now of course I am looking to pick out negative teachings just because you seem to have a euphoric view of the major religions...

Buddhism has some nice ideas though in its home countries it is always combined with some indigenous religion of gods with beards or whatever. On the other hand it is a very negative philosophy IMO. The whole idea of removing attachment to both things AND people so one can escape samsara (the dark physical world that is a trap) and not be reborn again seems very negative to me.

The Jewish view (though burdened with all the kinds of things I am mentioning) is to lift up the physical world towards the holy level as everything is God's creation.
