I also read an article in the NYT yesterday about the HUGE amount of cheating in colleges these days. When I was at Swarthmore, I never saw or even heard of an incident of cheating. And in the dorms, noone ever locked their door, even during vacations. A few years ago, I visited the college and there were warnings about theft all over the place. You couldn't go in and out of the library without having your bag searched. Women students were advised to call for a volunteer male escort when returning to their dorms from the library after dark. Eeek. I tried to get the article to paste but couldn't access the page. I see I'm behind hundreds of posts but I have to go soon!
