Freaky, yes. I'm waiting to hear news reports of Volcanic activity + earthquakes in New Zealand. That place is well known for both.

cheers, kumar

The "Big One" shuts down Trans-Alaska Pipeline

Turns out his was the biggest earthquake to hit interior Alaska in over 100 years (the '64 quake was under the ocean). Good thing it was in remote area.

They've closed down the pipeline for a full inspection from one end to the other. I expect they'll have it up and running again in 2-3 days.

The shaking lasted 2-3 minutes where I live. The one that woke me up 11 days ago was just a precursor.

Not connected?

Right before the election?

You just wait...I know people who will say Bush did it.

Some of them may still even be here on SI.
